Blancpain bestows Michelin Guide 2021 Mentor Chef Award in Munich
In its role as global watch partner of the Michelin Guide, Blancpain had the pleasure to support the 2021 Michelin Guide Germany Star Revelation event on 5th March. Broadcast online, this event unveiled the year's selection of best gastronomic German tables along with a series of special prizes celebrating culinary professions, from wine expertise to hospitality and service. The younger generation of chefs were under the spotlight, just as the very experienced and committed chefs, who give particular attention to ensuring the transmission of their knowledge.
On this occasion, the Blancpain Manufacture was delighted to honour the two-star Austrian chef Hans Haas with the 2021 Mentor Chef Award, in recognition of his dedication to passing on his own knowledge to a new generation of chefs. After heading the Restaurant Tantris in Munich for 30 years, Hans Haas became a mentor for many young talents. Several of today's top chefs worked in his kitchen, whom he challenged and promoted in a way that only a few other chefs were able to do. By sharing his passion and experience, and devoting himself to the training of his staff, Hans Haas therefore enabled the sharing of important skills and abilities with tomorrow's greatest chefs. Wolfgang Theis, Brand Manager Blancpain Germany, presented the award with great enthusiasm, along with a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms wall clock to the winner.
