Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 2 – Tech Gombessa

As part of the 70th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms, the first true diving watch, the Blancpain Manufacture is unveiling its second Act. This new timepiece dedicated to technical diving offers immersions of up to 3 hours for the first time.

The Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 2 – Tech Gombessa introduces a brand-new line dedicated to technical diving. Equipped with a helium valve, this 47 mm timepiece in 23 grade titanium is the first of its kind in the diving world. Instead of a bezel indicating a dive of up to one hour, the Act 2 has a unidirectional rotating bezel capable of measuring dive times of up to three hours. Co-developed by Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, and Laurent Ballesta, founder of the Gombessa project, this innovative design was developed for closed-circuit rebreather diving in particular, offering long underwater immersions that allow for a wealth of information to be gathered from the seabed. For improved legibility, the luminescent indications on this tool-watch - blue for the local time and green for the immersion time - contrast with a black dial that absorbs up to 97% of light.
