Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1

In 1953, Blancpain launched Fifty Fathoms, the first true diving watch. In 2003, to celebrate its 50th anniversary, a contemporary version was launched with a limited-edition three-part series of 50 timepieces each. This year, to mark its 70th anniversary, Blancpain is unveiling its first anniversary watch.

The anniversary year begins with the introduction of the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1, the first model to celebrate the 7th decade since the creation of the first true diving watch. As a tribute to the first contemporary Fifty Fathoms launched in 2003, a limited-edition three-part series is being produced, one for each region of the world - EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the Americas - but on this occasion each series consists of 70 pieces created to mark the anniversary. In addition to a black dial with contrasting luminescent indications, this timepiece is fitted with Blancpain's characteristic unidirectional bezel with a curved sapphire insert. Crafted in polished stainless steel, the case has a contemporary and exclusive diameter of 42 mm. Inside the Act 1 beats the robust calibre 1315, a movement that has been indispensable since its launch in 2007 thanks to its three-barrel design offering a five-day power reserve.
