Blancpain working alongside Bocuse d'Or Switzerland for the 2021 final
As a partner and official timekeeper of the Swiss Bocuse d'Or Academy for nearly two decades, Blancpain has renewed its support this year for the renowned gastronomic competition, whose final was held in November in Geneva. The Brand supported the four candidates for the Swiss representative, presided over by starred chef Franck Giovannini (from Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville de Crissier, Switzerland), in their quest for culinary excellence. Following five and a half hours of intense preparation, the young chefs presented the jury with a fish dish and a meat dish, both accompanied by three side dishes.
The creations that most charmed the jury were those from chef Christoph Hunziker, who was awarded the 2021 Bocuse d'Or Switzerland prize, thus becoming the Swiss representative at the European final of the Bocuse d'Or, which will take place in March 2022 in Budapest.
The chef from the Schüpbärg-Beizli in Schüpfen (Bern) previously distinguished himself at the Bocuse d'Or Switzerland 2014, while working at the Schärmehof restaurant in Thun. As a reward, Christoph Hunziker had the pleasure of receiving a Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe watch, the oscillating weight of which was specially engraved in honour of this event.
Blancpain's support for the 2021 edition of Bocuse d'Or Switzerland is just one of the Brand’s many activities in the field of gastronomy. These follow on from relationships lasting over thirty years with the most famous starred chefs, highlighting the characteristics that unite the worlds of haute horlogerie and haute cuisine: expertise, precision, passion and creativity.
