The Blancpain Ocean Commitment Exhibition on show in Seoul
Since the release of the world’s first modern diving watch – the Fifty Fathoms – in 1953, Blancpain has forged close and regular links with a wide range of ocean defenders – explorers, photographers, scientists and environmental specialists.
To share its passion for the oceans and improve public understanding which is vital to the achievement of environmental goals, Blancpain has launched its 2019 Blancpain Ocean Commitment exhibition, which recently made a stopover in the famous SJ Kunsthalle in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul. This was a unique opportunity for the Korean public to discover the brand's 66-year heritage in the development of diving watches, as well as its long-term involvement in favor of ocean conservation projects.
This exhibition provided an opportunity to explore the BOC universe by walking through a variety of showrooms, presenting the vintage and latest models from the Fifty Fathoms collection, along with a selection of underwater photographic artworks by Blancpain partners. During the tour, visitors were also offered an exclusive private screening of a documentary on the history of the iconic Fifty Fathoms. The excellent attendance to this event reflected global, significant and steadily-growing public interest in ocean conservation.
