Blancpain Ocean Commitment exhibition makes a stop-over in Seoul, Korea
On June 2, Soomin Park, Brand Manager of Blancpain in Korea and Aaron Wang, famous underwater photographer and friend of Blancpain, together with, welcomed VIPs, friends of the brand and journalists to commemorate the opening of the exhibition based at the JNB Gallery of Horim Art Center in Seoul.
Blancpain's Ocean Commitment exhibition is divided into several sections presenting various themes covered by detailed, in-depth introductions. Among other highlights, visitors enjoyed a chance to discover the connection that Blancpain first established with the underwater world over 60 years ago with the development of the first modern diving watch: the Fifty Fathoms. The latter has enabled Blancpain to develop significant and enduring relationships with scientists, divers, governmental organizations and other pioneers of the deep water world. Through these historical ties, Blancpain has become a longstanding and fervent supporter of environmental initiatives to explore, preserve and protect the world’s oceans. The exhibition also featured the “Art in Ocean” area comprising pictures taken by underwater photographers and friends of Blancpain, thus showcasing the diversity of the oceans and the importance of protecting them.
Soomin Park, Brand Manager of Blancpain in Korea, spoke about the brand's passion for the oceans: “In recognition of its close links with diving and its Fifty Fathoms history, Blancpain has for many years been supporting environmental initiatives to preserve and protect the world’s oceans. That's what the Blancpain Ocean Commitment is all about."
During the event, Aaron Wong explained his vision of the Blancpain Ocean Commitment project. "It is a great honor to have had the opportunity to work with Blancpain through the Fifty Fathoms over the years. Today, I'd like to share with you some of the images from my travels and hopefully thus enable you to admire this beauty and understand the importance of ocean conservation.”
