Blancpain joins forces with the Bocuse d’Or Suisse 2023

On Monday 13th November in Geneva, Switzerland, Blancpain celebrated gastronomic excellence at the Bocuse d’Or Suisse. As partner and official timekeeper of the Académie Suisse du Bocuse d'Or since 2004, Blancpain has reaffirmed its support for the prestigious gastronomic competition, setting the pace for every second of the contestants’ performances. After an intensely competitive 5 hours and 30 minutes, the overall winner was revealed.

At the end of a competition that saw three chefs compete to create an amuse-bouche, a fish dish and a meat dish, Euloge Malonga won over the judges with the best performance. The assistant head chef at Hirslanden Salem-Spital in Berne will therefore be continuing his culinary adventure as the Swiss representative at the Bocuse d'Or Europe in March 2024, which will be held in Trondheim, Norway. The winner of the European title will go on to participate in the world final in Lyon, France, at the 2025 Sirha exhibition.
To mark this Swiss triumph, Blancpain was delighted to present Euloge Malonga with a Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe watch, which has been specially hand-engraved with the inscription "Bocuse d'Or Suisse 2023” on the oscillating weight, together with a wall clock.
With its rich history of working alongside the world's greatest Michelin-star chefs over more than three decades, the Blancpain Manufacture is reaffirming its support for haute cuisine through its sponsorship of the Bocuse d'Or Suisse. In particular, the event was an opportunity to highlight the bonds that unite the worlds of fine watchmaking and gastronomy, such as precision, creativity and passion.
