Blancpain and the Michelin Guide award the Singapore “Young Chef Award” to Louis Han
Global partner of the Michelin Guide, Blancpain took part in the unveiling of the 2022 Michelin Stars in Singapore. In addition to the announcement of the latest Michelin-starred restaurants, the Michelin Guide has awarded the “Young Chef Award” naming the best young chef of the year.
The winner of the latest issue, Louis Han offers an authentic Korean cuisine, subtly blending in hints of modernity without hindering the traditional flavours. The young chef’s humility and the precision of his cuisine have clearly won the judges over.
Born in Gangnam, a prominent area of Seoul, chef Han spent his early years immersed in a cultural mix of Korean traditions and Western influences. It was this that influenced his cooking, as well as his quest for discovery, which he was able to satisfy by living in Lebanon and Abu Dhabi before moving to Singapore, where he opened his first restaurant NAE:UM in 2019.
Blancpain is always happy to support up-and-coming chefs, because to them, passing on their expertise to younger generations is of utmost importance. The Blancpain Manufacture has built close relationships within the world of haute gastronomy over the past 30 years, based on shared values, such as high standards and attention to detail.
