Blancpain, partnering again with the Bocuse d'Or Switzerland for its 2019 Final
Partner of the Swiss Bocuse d'Or Academy since 2004, the Blancpain Manufacture is proud to renew its association with esteemed gastronomic competition this year, which recently took place at the Kursaal conference building in Bern. On this occasion, the brand accompanied six young Swiss chefs selected to create two dishes that were submitted for the Jury's final vote. Under the watchful eyes of 1200 spectators, the candidates strived during 5 hours and 30 minutes to present successively a fish and meat dish to the jury, composed of Swiss gastronomy's greatest names and chaired by Franck Giovannini – famous chef of the "Hôtel de Ville" restaurant in Crissier.
After several tasting and deliberation rounds, chef Ale Mordasini (28 years old) from Aargau - Relais & Châteaux Hotel Krone Regensberg (Zurich) – won a double award: the "Cuisinier d'Or" title, as well as the "Swiss Bocuse d'Or 2019".
During the closing ceremony, the young award-winner had the honor to receive a Bathyscaphe watch from the iconic Fifty Fathoms collection by Blancpain, with an oscillating weight especially hand-engraved for the occasion.
The Blancpain Manufacture has been cultivating special ties with the greatest multi-starred chefs around the world for more than 30 years. This privileged relationship springs from the deeply held conviction that know-how, pursuit of excellence and creativity are all fundamental characteristics shared by the worlds of fine watchmaking and gastronomy.
