2020년 UN 세계 해양의 날 사진 공모전

2013년, 블랑팡은 바다가 직면하고 있는 환경 문제에 대한 대중의 인식을 높이기 위하여 뉴욕의 국제연합(UN) 본사에서 열린 세계 해양의 날 기념행사에서 해양 사진 전시회, “오션스(Oceans)”를 주최했습니다. 이 전시회는 심해 사진을 소개하는 리미티드 에디션 연간 간행물 에디션 피프티 패덤즈(Edition Fifty Fathoms)에 기고된 사진과 설립 파트너로서 블랑팡이 지원하는 수많은 탐험 가운데 촬영한 사진과 영상들을 전시합니다. 100,000명이 넘는 방문객들이 관람한 이 전시회를 통해 건강한 해양의 생태학적 및 경제적 중요성과 해양의 취약한 생물 다양성을 보존해야 하는 필요성을 강조합니다.

이와 같은 성공적인 이벤트와 더불어, 국제연합(UN)은 매년 바다의 아름다움을 드러내고 사람들에게 바다 환경 보존의 동기를 부여하고자 누구나 참여 가능한 자유 사진 공모전을 매년 주최합니다. 블랑팡은 이 훌륭한 프로젝트에 기여하게 된 것을 자랑스럽게 여기며, 현재 공식 파트너로서 7년째 프로젝트를 후원하고 있습니다.

올해 사진 공모전의 결과는 6월 8일 월요일, 세계 해양의 날을 기념하는 UN의 공식 가상 이벤트에서 발표되었습니다. 2020년 공모전 큐레이터인 엘렌 큐이라에르츠(Ellen Cuylaerts)는 유명한 수중 사진작가이자 2016 에디션 피프티 패덤즈(Edition Fifty Fathoms) 간행물의 기고자입니다.

Further to this successful event, the United Nations decided to organise a yearly open and free photo competition and ceremony seeking to reveal the beauty of the ocean and to motivate people to preserve it. Blancpain is proud of having contributed to the establishment of this brilliant project that the Brand has been supporting as official partner for seven years now.

The results of this year's photo competition have been announced on Monday June 8th during the UN official virtual event celebrating World Oceans Day. Ellen Cuylaerts, curator of the 2020 competition, is a renowned underwater photographer and contributor to the 2016 Edition Fifty Fathoms publication.
