A opening cocktail, a VIP dinner and a media luncheon were organized to launched the Blancpain Ocean Commitment Exhibition in Hong Kong. All the guest as VIPs, friends of the brands, partners, watch enthusiasts, journalists and ocean aficionados discovered the exciting exhibition featuring a series of spectacular underwater photographs, they also got to appreciate the Ocean Commitment Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback, the limited-edition watch Blancpain launched in support of protecting the ocean, in close views.Mr. Jalil Elkouch-Bordier, Vice President of Blancpain, Hong Kong and Macau, gave the welcoming speech and introduced Mr. Alain Delamuraz, Vice President of Blancpain, Head of Marketing. Mr. Delamuraz remarked during his speech that “Blancpain’s historical connection with diving goes back to 1953, with the development of the first modern diving watch: the Fifty Fathoms. Blancpain’s commitment to the marine world has been expressed for over 60 years by its determination to make this fascinating universe known to the broadest possible audience. To serve this mission, we support major scientific expeditions including the Pristine Seas Expeditions run by National Geographic, as well as Laurent Ballesta's Project Gombessa, and so on. It is with much delight that we announce today that the ocean protected by Pristine Seas has reached a new record high of 2,500,000 square kilometers. We cordially invite all of you to share our passion for the ocean and our mission to protect it at the Blancpain Ocean Commitment Hong Kong Exhibition and join us in ocean conservation.”During the VIP dinner, Mr. Aaron Wong, multi-award-winning and one of the most published professional underwater photographer in the world, who has travelled around and dived the globe, and published in the past decade, was invited on stage share his underwater artwork. In particular, he was one of the contributors of Edition Fifty Fathoms, the annual limited edition publication launched in 2008.
