Michelin Star Revelation France 2022: Blancpain presents the Mentor Chef Award to Thierry Marx
On March 22, Blancpain accompanied the Michelin Guide in its quest to find the best French restaurants of 2022. During a special event held in Cognac, several Michelin stars and prizes were awarded, including the Mentor Chef Award presented by Blancpain. This year's award was attributed to chef Thierry Marx, who was honoured for his lifelong commitment training and passing on his knowledge to the next generation of chefs.
A native of Paris, chef Marx heads the two-star restaurant Le Sur Mesure, nestled in the Mandarin Oriental hotel near Place Vendôme in Paris. His cuisine offers a complete sensory experience for fine gourmets, blending the technical and emotional aspects of cooking with sight, sound and taste.
Blancpain was also delighted to introduce its friend, the chef of the three-star restaurant L'Oustau de Baumanière, Glenn Viel, to the handling of watchmaking micro-components under the guidance of a Blancpain master-watchmaker.
