Navarra (ES7 Kirchanschöring) - pole position, two fastest laps and two victories is the resumé of the weekend of the thrilling FIA GT1 world championship races in Spain. Former F1 driver RIcardo Zonta and Frank Kechele could get two victories and two poles for the BLANCPAIN team Reiter in its Lamborghini!

After fastest lap in the free practice from Peter Kox and pole position for Ricardo Zonta there was more success to comeat the FIA GT1 race weekend in Navarra for the Reiter Engineering crew. Frank Kechele drove the start of the qualifying race in the #25 Lamborghini and held on to his lead through the first turns. The 24-year-old from Ulm extended his lead up to almost 6 seconds before the pitstop and the drivers change. Teammate Christopher Haase in the #24 Murcielago clashed with a competitor during the start and was charged with a debatable drive through penalty by the race control being on position 5. A little technical problem forced teammate Peter Kox to come to the pits. Kox could still drive the fastest lap later on thanks to the fast mechanics. Ricardo Zonta finished with constant and fast laps in his #25 car and won the qualifying race. "This puts us into a great position for the main race and gives the team important points for the championship", Ricardo Zonta assumed after the race.

In the afternoon Ricardo Zonta could win the fight after the start of the championship race and stayed in the lead. he defeated the lead brilliant until he handed over the car to Frank Kechele during the pitstop in round 16. Again the Reiter crew did a great job with the pitstop and gave Kechele the opportunity to get back on the track leading. The Lamborghini driver expanded his lead to 11,9 seconds and won in a start-finish-victory the main race of the weekend together with Ricardo Zonta.

"The weekend couldn't have been better for Reiter Engineering", Frank Kechele said gladly. "The team did a great job working together for this great result. Our Lamborghini Murciélago was constant and fast in Navarra. I want to thank Hans Reiter for giving me the opportunity to drive his car in the FIA GT1 world championship."

"After I had to miss one race it is a fantastic feeling to come back to the championship like this", Ricardo Zonta described. "Now I am even more excited for my home race in Interlagos. A track, which should also fit the Murciélago."
