In 2013, Blancpain’s involvement in the world of motorsports takes a symbolic new turn with the creation of a team bearing the brand colours, Blancpain Racing. This new team registered in Switzerland will proudly fly the Swiss flag, like the Blancpain watches featuring the famous Swiss Made inscription.
Marc A. Hayek
Powerfully symbolising the brand’s active commitment, Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, has been taking part in the Blancpain Endurance Series season since the creation of the series in 2011, following his participation in 2009 and 2010 in the “Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo” and n 2011, Marc A. Hayek won the ADAC GT Masters in the PRO-AM category.
Through karting and the Marlboro Challenge ‘83 Peter Kox entered motorracing. In 1987 he became a professional driver and until this day he maintained that status. In the 90’s, he drove different type of formula and was a workdriver for BMW, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Honda and Spyker. Peter Kox won also some mythical races such as the 24 hours of Spa. In more than 25 years, Peter Kox has built a great career in formula and GT racing. After 2000 he concentrated on endurance racing in fast GT-cars and still belongs to the top drivers in this class. In 2003 he won the Le Mans 24 Hours race in GT1 with a Prodrive Ferrari. In 2010, Peter Kox won ADAC GT Masters in the PRO category and in 2011 in the PRO-AM category. In 2011 and 2012, Peter had a full program, mainly for Reiter Engineering, in partnership with Lamborghini.
Since 2009, Peter Kox is co-driver on every championship – Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, Blancpain Endurance Series, ADAC GT Master – and on each race with Marc A. Hayek
THE NEW LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO GT3 FLII
Blancpain Racing will line up for the Blancpain Endurance series at the wheel of a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FLII. With its over 600 HP,V10 engine, this new Gallardo was developed to achieve impressive performances over long distances, and particularly in 24-hour endurance races.
