Blancpain, Official Timekeeper of Madridfusion

For the fifth successive year, Madrid confirmed again its status as one of the gastronomical capitals of the world. For four days’ running Madrid was the meeting point for an encounter between 45 of the world’s best chefs as Juan Mari Arzak, Ferran Adriá, Grant Achatz, Dan Barber, Charlie Trotter, Heston Blumenthal, Tetsuya Wakuda and Santi Santamaría, among others, who offered in Madridfusión, a thrilling performance where technique and creativity were put together with raw materials to show to the world their last culinary revelations.

Blancpain joins with this magnificent annual event and occupies a privileged position as Official Watch and Timekeeper, proving so actually both professions, gastronomy and watch-making, share many facets in common, and both are devoted to time and taste.
Nothing is better than the constant beat of the Blancpain Léman Chronographe Flyback watch to measure the time with accuracy for the culinary creations. In this edition dedicated to raw materials avant-garde took a modern look at traditional techniques working on the recovery of ancient recipes.

Blancpain, official timekeeper of the event, measured with accuracy the passing of time while the world’s best chefs were taking cook to the level of a true art, explaining their best techniques. China, this year’s special guest country, arrived with a team of chefs who used age-old techniques in a thoroughly modern contest. All participants showed live their skills in a way very common to Blancpain philosophy: the simple harmony of the result hides all the efforts used to cook every dish, as Blancpain watchmakers do in every piece perpetuating the tradition of innovation.
