23 December 2008Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute Officially Honoured by Collectors!Already at the first MunichTime Watch Exhibition Blancpain was off to an excellent start right into the hearts of the discerning watch collectors and aficionados from all over the German speaking regions in Europe. More than 7000 watch lovers gathered between 31 October and 02 November 2008 in Munich's Praterinsel to seize the exclusive opportunity for an hands-on experience with prestigious timepieces and for a chat with the manufacturer's representatives. The Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute particularly draw the attention of the public: Out of almost 60 watch brands exhibiting, this pioneering Blancpain creation was awarded with the third place in the category 'Complex Mechanics' by public vote. During the award ceremony on 11 December 2008 in the prestigious Palais Ferstel in Vienna, the laudators, prominent watch journalists Alexander Linz (Austria) and Gisbert L. Brunner (Germany) extended their congratulations to Blancpain Brand Manager Wolfgang Theis and particularly stressed that "the connoisseurs valued a unique construction in this ubiquity of tourbillons". Wolfgang Theis expressed his gratitude towards the public for this exploit. He valued the presentation of this accolade to the Blancpain Carrousel as an expression of the sophistication of the competent audience. During a very short time after its presentation during the Basel Watch and Jewellery Fair 2008 watch lovers have recognised the subtle significance of this complication and honoured Blancpain as innovator in the world of fine watchmaking. The Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute is the world's first wristwatch carrousel, the first with a cage rotation of one minute and the first such watch with automatic winding. This unique timepiece has been created in collaboration with world-famous master watchmaker Vincent Calabrese. |
