Blancpain Sponsor La Paulee de San Francisco

The Paulee wine events that take place yearly in the United States, either in New York or San Francisco, are without contest the most prestigious, the grandest, the most sought after, and the most over the top burgundy wine extravaganzas in North America. The 2008 Paulee which was held February 28-March 1 of this year in San Francisco was no exception. Burgundy wine aficionados from all over the United States flocked to the city by the Bay to join more than 16 of the most revered wine makers from burgundy for the event. Six hundred burgundy wine fanatics attended an all afternoon tasting and lunch catered by San Francisco’s finest restaurants, 400 even luckier connoisseurs were part of the Gala Dinner later that evening featuring the cuisine of Michelin starred chefs Regis and Jacques Marcon, Daniel Boulud, Michael Mina and Traci Des Jardins.

Blancpain was delighted to be a sponsor and participant at both the tasting and gala dinner. Marc Junod, head of Blancpain US presided over the presentation of a broad selection of time pieces from Blancpain’s collections. To entertain the gathered lovers of food and wine, Blancpain showed its film “Passion for Excellence” that features a whimsical demonstration of one of Blancpain’s master watchmakers and one of the sous-chefs of the three star Swiss restaurant Rochat demonstating their arts side by side on a split screen.
