Blancpain opens its first Boutique in Switzerland

Following on from Cannes, Paris, New York, and Munich, Blancpain has set up its very first Boutique on Swiss soil, located on the corner of the Rue du Rhône and the Place de la Fusterie, Geneva. The collections of the world’s oldest watch brand are showcased in a 53 sq.m. boutique which opened on December 16th.
Reflecting the philosophy prevailing in the Manufacture in Le Brassus, a village nestling at the far end of the Lac de Joux, Blancpain boutiques convey the same spirit that pervades the workshops of its master-watchmakers. Crafted by a skilled cabinetmaker from the Vallée de Joux, the interior design of the boutique is imbued with the regional heritage and the Blancpain horological know-how perpetuated for the past 270 years.
Cherry wood is the predominant theme, clothing the walls and furniture with its warm ambertones. The finely granulated texture of this wood confers a brand-signature touch of luxury and elegance on these surroundings. The atmosphere of the Blancpain boutiques and the Manufacture in Le Brassus expresses the spirit of authenticity and the quest for perfection that drive the Blancpain watchmakers.
Noble woodwork, refined mouldings, pure, streamlined furniture, along with traditional wrought iron catches adorning the windows and displays, all contribute to this warm, cosy aesthetic appeal. Comfortable leather chairs welcome visitors, who can thus savour a “lounge” atmosphere in which to discover subtle timepieces created in harmony with the noblest watchmaking traditions. At the back of the boutique, an authentic antique solid oak and pewter bar found in a Parisian brasserie provides an area conducive to friendly exchanges, a value Blancpain consistently cultivates in conjunction with an inimitable art of living and time-honoured expertise.
The atmosphere of the Vallée de Joux, the cradle of Haute Horlogerie, thus now suffuses Geneva’s prestigious Rue du Rhône. And if passers-by stop to peek through the small wooden windows that open like translucent jewel-cases into the new Blancpain boutique, they may well find themselves imperceptibly drawn towards the intimate warmth emanating from within.
